Ruchin Soni

Ruchin Soni is a highly accomplished art educator, holding a bachelor's degree in fine arts in Painting and a master's degree in fine arts in Mural Design from Maharaja Sayaji Rao University in Baroda, Gujarat.

As a seasoned professional, Ruchin has garnered recognition through awards, grants, and fellowships for his exceptional contributions to the art world. His international exhibition history includes prestigious shows in Mexico and India, showcasing works that reflect his outstanding skills and professionalism. Engaging in street art projects and artist residency programs, Ruchin creates a unique and enriching learning environment for his students.

Ruchin's commitment to fostering creativity and artistic growth is evident in his involvement in various projects. He mentored a UNDP Art Project on Medicinal Plants in Chhattisgarh in collaboration with Dusty Foot India and SPYM, and conducted art workshops at renowned institutions like Scindia School Gwalior, Purkul Youth Development Society, Dehradun, Kiran Nadar Museum Delhi to name a few. He conducted a public art workshop in Parque Mexico, Mexico City, in collaboration with The Wall People in May 2013. As well as a migration-themed workshop in Heidelberg, Germany in 2019.

Beyond teaching, Ruchin has conducted teacher training programs with Flow India, including the first "Big Draw" event in the country and a session on "Integrated Learning Platforms" at the British Council, New Delhi. His research includes a three-month stint at a village school in Auroville, where he designed and implemented an art curriculum for the Primary Section for Udavi School Auroville. He has worked as an Assistant Professor with School of Visual arts at The World University of Design, Sonipat, Delhi. He is also a LAS (Liberal arts and Science) Advisor for constructing Syllabi for Visual Arts and Design, with Parami University on a contractual basis.

In subsequent years, Ruchin's mural projects included painting at Patna Junction railway station and C.M. House in Patna in 2016-17. In 2018, he contributed to the Tirupati Smart City Public Art Project, collaborating with Aecom India and Tirupati Municipal Corporation, painting two overhead water tanks in the town. Notably, Ruchin completed a significantly large mural in Jogeshwari, Mumbai, in 2020, in collaboration with Curves and Colours, and a mural featuring Pandit Birju Maharaj in Delhi in 2023, in collaboration with St-art India.
